Hi everyone! I'm Mariya, I just joined Finary last week and want to talk to you

I’m looking for people willing to spend 20–30 minutes with me on a call and share what frustrates you, what you wish existed but doesn’t, what feels unclear or confusing, what could simply work better.

My goal is to understand what should actually be prioritised, so that the team and I build the right things :rocket:

If you’re up for it, drop a reply here or book a slot directly: https://calendar.app.google/Jw8QHexTZYK87McD6

Thanks in advance, really looking forward to these conversations :heart_hands:

Hello,

Welcome :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s a good oppotunity for the community.

One question : The conversations will be only for english speaker or if the people speak only french it’s not an issue?

Thanks

Hi Mariya,

Nice to virtually meet you.
Are you working on a specific product of Finary ? to be more focused

I’m an old finary user, half way in his financial journey, and I want to continue using Finary.

today, I’m looking forward :

  • the goals feature: I want to find a way to create multiple goals for retirement, children donation, amount per type of assets (goals for a specific crypto, real estate, a specific account)
  • bullet proof sync: I want to be able to add transactions manually when a sync is paused or for a manual source
  • AI coach based on my own assets

for sure, the goals are what I need today to go further with Finary, including simulators (montecarlo ?) for those individual goals.

I feel there are so many quick wins to do. For example, I wish for some small enhanchement:

  • family mode: I have my couple (my wife an I) and each of my children , I want to track each of them individually (done, great) but also I wish to have a view with virtual grouping to create “adults”, “children” .
  • the fees analysis: I find it misleading the analysis done on SCPI, we should have the view on the fee in the context on the type of assets.
  • the analysis related to unknown funds: I wish a way to map an unknown fund with a known ISIN fund. I have few funds that I can find equivalent ones and it could be then used in the passive income analysis or geographical analysis
  • data cleaning: when using the “fix chart” feature, I wish to be able to remove the data for a subset of account instead of everything
  • other assets: I add to use this feature to add manually a retirement account (due to unknown funds), I wish to be able to change the type of this account to not have it lost in this “other assets” section
  • popuplar investments: today it is not much useful in my journey after 4 years of finary, I wish to have the capabilities to filter on the top 10% finary user or top 5% finary users
  • budget: ability to disable the internal wiring/transfer as it doesn’t work for me, and it is irritating to manually add them back. I have almost stopped using the feature.
  • csv/json export: with such feature, we could wait for an AI coach by using our own.

Initially I used finary to track my assets, now it is much bigger: it is for my whole family, to do short term arbitrage (based on analysis), track mid term and long term goals, prepare for early retirement, optimize budget to save more or to plan personal projects.

but I miss something to do actually this perfectly inside the apps, not much.

Je confirme que la discussion se fait majoritairement en anglais.
Possibilité de parler français si besoin, une autre personne de Finary traduit ensuite à Mariya en anglais.

Hello! I’m looking for english speakers.
But we have other product managers who would be happy to have a talk in french :+1:

Hi R_C, thanks so much for taking the time to write all of this out! This is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for when I posted, and it’s incredibly useful to see how Finary fits into your day-to-day.

The issues you raised are clear and actionable, and I’ve shared each item with the team so we can prioritise them properly.

Goals is a deeper topic. I’d like to dig into how you’re currently setting your goals and tracking progress towards them — understanding your context and needs would help us design the right solution.

Would you be up for a short call so you can walk me through your current setup (Excel, side tools, mental models — whatever it is)? Or maybe write it here if you prefer :raising_hands:

Thanks again, I truly appreciate it

Hi Mariya,

Thanks for the opportunity!

On my side I have two main topics that should be there already for the basic usage of the app:

  1. Having stable transactions (due to some sync issues I often see transactions disappear and being back again, forcing me to re-update them: category etc..).

The current management of the category objective is not the way I want to manage my budget, I prefer the approach of having different virtual accounts that take into account debit AND credit and be able to split transactions across multiple virtual accounts) That way I would be able to know how much I can use an account or not (for instance for vacation, saving a small amount each month from the salary)

  1. Be able to have the full picture on the performance (difference between contribution and performance, saving account interests etc..) Because currently it’s not precise enough and I am not really checking it

Thank you very much

Thanks for this, @Cladil super helpful!

Fixing sync is our main focus right now, and you should see significant improvements over the coming months. Noted on the disappearing transactions specifically, really frustrating.

One thing coming next week that might help for the vacation saving use case specifically: a new goals feature that lets you track progress toward a specific target. Not the full budgeting system you’re describing, but a good start for the « set aside X each month » use case.

Have a nice weekend :sun:

Hello,
as new user, I have posted some first comments here:
Découverte de finary - Discussions sur Finary - Forum Finance n°1 pour les investisseurs en France - Finary

What I find most frustrating, and questionning the interest to use Finary on my side:
* I like the fact that on CTO or PEA, instead of asking a resync with banks, the number of shares and references of the shares is kept, so that the amount are updated automatically by Finary. However, I see plenty of mistakes which make the reporting unreliable. For instance: IE000BI8OT95 has increased significantly today, but is shown as 0% increase on Finary. Even yesterday, after a full week, multiple prices were wrong and not at the last known value.
For me reliability is number 1 criteria to select a tool.

* I am disappointed by the lack of basic features. For instance, for an “assurance vie” splitted between Euros and shares, we can see each part separately, but there is no simple view to see the global amount for this “assurance vie” with both combined, or I did not find it. On mine, I could even have some SCPI, FPCI… and if this is splitted in 4 different pieces, not so good. In fact, the view by type is OK, but would be good to also see it by account or even by bank as well.

* I agree with one on the comment above. Would be good to see only adults, or only children, rather than only the full family.

* Also lack of ability to manage private equity. The 2 banks I am working with (inter-invest, ramify) are not supported in the automatic synchronization. Also I would prefer to see the private equity in a dedicated section rather than in “other invests” with all the ones not supported together (knowing that I have entered them manually, and mentionned that they are FPCIs). But this looks less critical to me for now, as the values are updated every quarter, so doing it manually is not a big deal.

Hi @Toto92

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback!! I wanted to come back to you on a few points.

On the pricing: I’ve checked IE000BI8OT95 just now and it looks up-to-date on our side, so it may have been a refresh issue earlier in the week. If you’ve spotted other tickers with outdated values, could you share some examples? It would help investigate any underlying issue.

On the life insurance split: it’s actually a pain point we hear from many users. We’re working on a new account-based layout that should land in the coming weeks - the goal is exactly what you described i.e seeing the full contract in one view instead of split across types. Hopefully you’ll still be with us by then to give it a try, and that it lives up to what you’re hoping for!

On the family filter and the private equity section: both noted and shared with the team. Not the top of our roadmap right now, but they’re on our radar.

Thanks again for the constructive feedback

Have a nice day!
Juliane

Hello

Thanks for your answer !

Good news on life insurance split as having a view by account (on top of the view by type) would be quite useful.

On the family filter, one way would be to be able to select which selection of inviduals we would like to see the finances (instead of ALL or one only). But adults or children would also work for me.

For the pricing updates (the most important for me), maybe this is due to the frequency of update which is slow. I will check this again and come back to you with examples if needed.

Hi Mariya, after a few weeks testing Finary Pro, I realize that I don t see the value as long as there are so many technical glitches / missing permissions to sync from my banks and insurances and funds I am invested in. Seeing my portfolio on finary that has never anything to do with reality is - slightly underwhelming to put it mildly.

Please can you or anyone from Finary arrange a call with me asap as I am in need of a decision with which platform to move forward. I love finary s functions!!! but sadly rather in theory it now turns out given all the glitches and non-synchronizations :frowning:

Merci merci

Millie

Hello

You were asking examples of issues on updates of quotations. Two from today:
1/ Just now, my financials suddendly dropped from +0,5% to -1,5%. I was wondering what happened at 10pm when almost everything is closed ( ) and reason is that Iberdrola (ES0144580Y14) is reported as 0€ instead of 19,59€. Fortunately it has not vanished today

2/ During all day long, Alten was reported as loosing money (compared to yesterday) whereas it has always been positive in reality. Now it is fixed and the correct value is reported.

My view is that accuracy of reporting must be guaranteed. And having fast updates is welcome. But accuracy comes first.
